Ashley Davis becomes Plainfield's newest council member on New Year's Day (with video)

new Councilwoman afterward.

Ashley Davis was sworn in as Plainfield's newest City Council member on New Year's Day.

Councilor Davis represents the First Ward.

Freeholder Rebecca Williams administered the oath of office at 11:00 AM on the steps of City Hall amid a gathering of friends and relatives.

Congratulations, Ashley!

Davis, who won a contested primary in June and a record-setting vote in November will be seated at the Council's reorganization meeting Monday, January 7th at the Council Chambers/Courthouse at Watchung Avenue and East 4th Street.
