Plainfield faces a busy week

Plainfield faces a busy week as Spring advances and politics and budgets sprout.

Here's what's coming up this week --
MONDAY - 4:00 PM
Candidates must file their notarized petitions for elective office with the County Clerk's office by 4:00 PM. Local races include Plainfield's mayor, Ward 4, and Wards 2/3 at-large. In addition, the Plainfield Democratic City Committee's 68 seats will be up for election at the June Primary.
MONDAY - 7:30 PM
Plainfield City Council meets for its April agenda-setting session at 7:30 PM in City Hall Library. The agenda is available online here.
TUESDAY - 8:00 PM
Board of Education Work/Study meeting will be held in the PHS cafeteria. Parking and entrance in the Kenyon Avenue lot.
WEDNESDAY - 6:30 PM
A special presentation on the School Budget, and the importance of the Priority and Focus School designations, with Dr. Andrea Lewis, executive director of the Region 9 Regional Success Center. At Emerson Community School Cafetorium, East 3rd Street and Emerson Avenue. Parling in the school lot and on the street.
THURSDAY - 7:30 PM
Plainfield's Planning Board meets in City Hall Library. Among the items expected to be discussed at this meeting are next steps in the development of the former Muhlenberg Hospital site. The Board meets in the City Hall Library. Parking and entry at the rear of the building.
Next week is Holy Week. The Council holds its April business meeting on Monday, April 10 at 8:00 PM at the Council Chambers / Courthouse, East 4th Street and Watchung Avenue.
