Hundreds of people turned out for Plainfield's 30th annual celebration of National Night Out, which this year included a new feature -- a car and motorcycle show.

Among the highlights were recognition by Mayor Adrian O. Mapp of former Councilor Liz Urquhart, who began the NNO observances, the youngsters participating in the police cadet program and honorees from each ward for civic service -- Marie Davis (Ward 1), Donald Van Blake (Ward 2), Jean Black (Ward 3) and Rev. James Abney (Ward 4).

Here are some photos --

As always, the lines at the hot dog tent (with service by
the DPW's John Louise) were loooong.

Congratulations and well-done to all who worked on putting the event together, especially Superintendent of Recreation Veronica Taylor and crew. (You can take a break now for a few minutes.)
