Prepay Plainfield property taxes?

The story was clear and startling: Plainfielders could now prepay their property taxes.

What?!

Actually, it's an idea that has appealed to at least a few Plainfield taxpayers, as I can attest from complaints about the timing of the delivery of the tax bills.

But the Plainfield in question wasn't in New Jersey, it was in Illinois. The story noted that in order to help folks budget their property tax payments by prepaying them in installments in advance of actually receiving the bills.

You can read the complete story on the Plainfield, IL Patch here.

Is this an idea whose time has come?

Pre-pay???? Let's get the bills out first!!

I know people who have not received their tax bills for May.

In addition, taxes are due today - anyone get their bill?

Told by tax office that bills will go out in two weeks with a 25 day grace period to pay Q3. Q4 will still be due Nov 1.
