'CLIPS' calendar moves to Google...and sidebar

Beginning today, Plainfield Events have a new look, and location.
Plainfield events are getting a brand-new look with today's issue of CLIPS.

The 'What's Happening' calendar is now hosted on Google Calendar, which is going to be better for YOU and for ME.

For YOU, it will mean you can simply click on an event and ADD IT TO YOUR CALENDAR if you used Google Calendar (for more on that, see here).

For ME, it simplifies the creation of a listing -- especially RECURRING meetings like Planning and Zoning boards, and even the PMUA pickup schedule.

The calendar is now located in the right-hand column, near the top.

Clicking on an event title opens a popup with complete details,
and the option to copy to your personal calendar.
All you need to do is click on the EVENT TITLE to open a  small popup which not only gives you all the information about the event, but the opportunity to upload it to your personal calendar with one click. Where there are website for more info or email contacts, I have entered these. If you click the 'more details' link at the bottom of the listing, these will then appear as 'clickable' links, which will whisk you to the website or open a blank email for your questions.

You will also note that I have entered a large number of events and activities all the way through December 31, 2011. If I had done that with the old arrangement, you would have had to scroll forever to reach the bottom. (Well, you still do,  but it's inside a very controllable window).

And please, keep sending me your event notices. Email them to plaindan at gmail dot com.

You can send flyers, press releases or just a 5W's email (who, what, where, when, why). And now I can put them up just as soon as they're received and not worry about putting them in a folder for later and then hunting high and low for the folder.

Some things in life deserve to be a little easier.

The old format is gone, but I won't be missing it.
