For example, Mount Holyoke was the traditional 'sister school' for Dartmouth. Which may be why you will see a parody of the MHC dorms in one scene of Animal House, which reportedly had some Dartmouth elements.Colleen Gibneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09719107741183024330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909246571366789334.post-28856492946718916962012-07-22T13:31:59.566-04:002012-07-22T13:31:59.566-04:00Seven Sisters referred to a series of women's ...Seven Sisters referred to a series of women's magazines: Better Homes & Gardens, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, Ladies' Home Journal, McCall's, Redbook and Woman's Day.Jenn Popperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03762173082119927047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909246571366789334.post-5904044316225422362012-07-22T13:11:28.684-04:002012-07-22T13:11:28.684-04:00Dan: as a Vassar College graduate (pre-men), I kno...Dan: as a Vassar College graduate (pre-men), I know there were (are?) seven women's colleges in the Northeast dubbed "Seven Sisters." Plainfield has a strong connection to Vassar including Miss Hartridge, Grace Murray Hopper and Sadie Sandford, and, I'm sure many more. Marge Green, also HS, graduated from Mt. Holyoke, and there must be Smithies about. HS '63 sent two women to Vassar, two to Wellesley, and one to Mt. Holyoke. Not bad in a class of 21.<br />These houses, I have no idea.Pat Turner Kavanaugh, HS '63, VC '67noreply@blogger.com
